One good thing about Cold Weather.......

The Kudzu dies.....

This picture shows the kudzu alive.....because I am too lazy to take a picture of dead kudzu.

And the only thing uglier than alive kudzu is dead kudzu....

( If you are talking about kudzu that is... because there is stuff uglier than kudzu...)

I was just thinking about you and your kudzu recently. I was out for a 14 mile run last weekend, and in several places along the trail were markers from Montgomery County indicating where they were doing Invasive Species Control. I stopped at one point and, sure enough, the signs said it was Kudzu they were killing. I'm not sure what their tactics are, but we here in Maryland stand in solidarity with you down in Georgia in the ongoing battle :)

I saw some news report the other day about how people were keeping goats to keep their kudzo at bay. Come on, you know you want one!

Jen - I wonder what all they are using. We've used some heavy duty killer that kills every thing, except for the kudzu roots in the ground where it just sprouts back up.

Jean- This is where the goats come in....They eat everything very close to the ground. I would like a goat and Mom and Papa Joe have them on their farm and have offered us a couple. This would be a very "green" form of pest control which I would like. Also I may be known as the crazy goat lady on Vernon....which is funny....to me...at least.

I think everyone that has kudzu on Vernon would be envious of you and your consistently mowed down kudzu by your darling little goats (of which you could post pictures)!

This is good news!!

We got our first smattering of freezing rain today.

BTW - I hope you and yours had a great turkey day as well.
